CHASSAGNE-MONTRACHET VIDE-BOURSE 2017 92–94 WA Jan19

[92–94 pts] The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Vide Bourse was showing well from barrel, exhibiting aromas of honeyed pears, mandarin, lemon and dried white flowers. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and satiny, with tangy acids to cut through its textural unctuousness and a pure, nicely defined finish. It’s the chunkiest, broadest-shouldered wine in the Pillot cellar and should develop well with further élevage and bottle age. – W.K.
