[89–91 pts] This outpost of the Lafite Rothschild family has turned out a potentially outstanding 2016 Corbières. Forty percent of the wine is aged in oak, giving this prospective blend a glossy sheen of vanilla, pencil shavings and a linear palate relative to most Corbières. This medium to full-bodied assemblage of 48% Syrah, 37% Mourvèdre, 8% Grenache and 7% Carignan does show plenty of raspberry fruit and a long, silky finish, and it should be longer-lived than many less-structured neighbors. – J.C.
