Clos Ste Hune Riesling 2010 94 WA Aug14

The Trimbach 2010 Riesling Clos Ste-Hune displays even more huckleberry and sloe berry piquancy as well as a more pronouncedly chalky mineral character than the corresponding Cuvee Frederic Emile. In fact, high tone aromatics and faint bitterness akin to holly berry distillate lend an unusual not to mention attention-getting aspect. Firm and full, this exhibits cheek-pinching concentration of lemon, grapefruit and white peach allied to mouthwatering oyster liquor and saline-sweet scallop savor as well as intriguing musk in its long, albeit rather aggressively piquant finish. Plan to follow this through at least 2028.  – D.S.
