This famed vineyard in Hunawihr produced a tight, austere riesling in 2011. It remains closed off for days behind the scents of toasted lees, oxidative apple and notes of grain. A big wine that manages to feel silky, the texture is the clearest indication of its provenance. This will need bottle age to show that provenance more clearly.
