This has a dark, muscular edge, with smoldering charcoal and warm iron notes leading the way for a core of steeped black currant and blackberry fruit. The finish rumbles along, presenting some slightly chewy grip. The ample freshness and flesh throughout bodes well for cellaring. Best from 2018 through 2024. — J.M.
