The garnacha in this blend (55%) comes from very old vines, some of them planted a century ago at El Puig, a warm, south-facing parcel. The rest of the wine is made up of fruit off of younger cabernet sauvignon and syrah vines. The result speaks of that warm spot with delightful, liqueur-like red fruit flavors, round and voluptuous, yet it’s also balanced, the firm tannins taming the sweetness. A wine for the winter.
