Very deep ruby with a pale rim. Aromas of smoke, red and dark cherry, plum and violet, complicated by earthy notes. Flinty on entry, then sweet, rich and smoky, offering long, juicy plum and saline flavors. There’s more ripe flesh and fruit here than in the 2015 Taurasi Radici, but this is not at all over the top. – I.D.
