The folks at Fontanafredda refer to this wine as the Barolo “Tradizione.” Following with Barolo tradition, it represents a blend of fruit from various sites. The 2014 Barolo is perfumed with lilacs and wild rose, creating a graceful and accessible wine. It is aged in large oak casks (botte grande) made with French and Slavonian oak for two years… If you are not familiar with Nebbiolo, this wine makes a good starting point for an ongoing education. – M.L.
