Savory, succulent, with rippling muscles. The limestone terroir here (just above Ch La Rivière in Fronsac, with just 20-30cm of soil before you hit limestone) is clear in the cool, silky feel and vibrant violet colour. Menthol and blueberry, real character that is more in line with Cabernet Franc from Chinon than Bordeaux – and is massal selected vines from the Lafleur vineyard, as is the Merlot.
