Fontanafredda’s 2011 Barolo La Rosa is terrific. Floral and expressive in the glass, the 2011 has retained considerable freshness and nuance for the year. Sweet red cherry, rose petal, mint and cinnamon nuances are layered into the beautifully focused finish. This is a very pretty 2011 Barolo from Fontanafredda that balances the obvious ripeness of the year with brighter notes. – A.G.
