Clear and ultra-ripe Riesling aromas, along with fine slate flavors opens the 2014 Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese (AP #01 15). This is a generous, lush and voluptuous Riesling made from super ripe but obviously healthy Riesling fruits. The finish is piquant and salty, as well as very stimulating. This is a very digestible Auslese that tastes even drier than the Spätlese.
