Solidly built, with a cedar and alder frame inlaid along the edges of the pure plum and cassis core, while hints of bay leaf, olive and sweet tobacco unwind slowly through the finish. A late flicker of iron keeps this grounded. Best from 2021 through 2037. –J.M.
